What makes me qualified to help…..

Movement was my savior as a preteen and teenager; dance generally, ballet specifically. Dancing gave me an outlet from the chaos of jr. high, and allowed me to leave my hometown for UNCSA, a high school and university for other odd, talented artists like myself where I was much better accepted. At 18, I entered the professional ballet world apprenticing for Ballet Dallas and a year later, doing the same with Hartford Ballet.

A year off of professional performing led to attending a Pilates teacher training/certification at The Oasis Physical Conditioning Center of Dallas Texas(in adjunct with the well known Physical Mind Institute of Santa Fe), and subsequent position there as an instructor. However, when I received a call from The State Ballet of Oregon to guest artist for the summer, my Pilates career was put on hold. A few months later I got hired at the State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara as a full company member. I was also a ballet teacher at both companies’ affiliate schools.

In 1998, some unfortunate circumstances ensued, including a car accident that keep me from dancing for a few months. I enrolled at Southern Oregon University, attending classes until 2002 as a psychology major. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2002, I revisited teaching Pilates at The Pilates Studio of L.A. (2002, 2003)

In 2006, I committed to teaching full time again. This time as both a Pilates and yoga instructor, after completing teacher trainings in vinyasa flow and Anusara yoga through City Yoga of West Hollywood. In 2008, I completed an advanced teacher training at Maha Yoga in Brentwood.

Teaching around Los Angeles in studios, gyms, corporations and individual’s homes, I settled into my two, long-time home bases in 2007, Pacific Medical Group and Melrose Pilates. I taught at both until moving back to North Carolina to be with family in April, 2016.

In 2013, I finally decided to address some health issues that had begun in my early 30’s. As they say, I was ‘sick and tired of being sick and tired.’ Figuring out my personal path to renewed vitality led me to holistic nutrition and energy healing. In 2015, I completed certifications in sports nutrition, herbs and supplements, wellness coaching, and holistic health, as well as gaining several continued education credits through IDEA fitness. The same year, I also completed training as an energy healer under well-known energy worker Rudy Hunter. (ASH work, activated spaces healing).

I look forward to assisting you on your path to optimal wellness! -Holly
